About Jess

Hey, I’m Jess!
I live in rural New Brunswick, Canada with my husband, Nathan, and our little man, Henry.
On the day to day, you can find me in the chicken coop, checking on my honey bees, hiking with Nathan or splashing in the creek with Henry.
When I graduated high school, I had never heard of gerontology – the study of aging. Read about my Journey to Gerontology below!
Journey to Gerontology

1 | The Catalyst
I moved in with my 89 and 92 year old grandparents as their primary caregiver.
Watching them move through aging challenges intrigued me.

2 | The Foundation
I completed formal education in gerontology, human movement, retirement communities management, end-of-life, and home safety.

3 | The Understanding
I worked in rehabilitation, hospital, care homes, aging-sector consulting and social aging research.
I’ve identified a major gap impacting our aging experience.

4 | The Gap
We’re not planning for aging holistically. Or at all for that matter.
You aren’t planning for aging because you don’t know where to start. It’s overwhelming.

5 | The Impact
It’s time I guide you with what I’ve experienced and learned.
You and your family need to understand the considerations of holistic Age Planning.
